In Australia, Omission gluten results based on the R5 Competitive ELISA test meet the Australian standard for low gluten, but due to being brewed from barley, cannot be called gluten free. Gluten levels in every batch of Omission beer have been reduced below 20 ppm.
An independent third party Australian laboratory tested both Omission Lager and Pale Ale for gluten content. The results were so low that they could not be measured, resulting in a final report analysis of “Less than the Limit of Quantitation (LoQ)”. Limit of Quantitation (LoQ) is a term used to describe the smallest concentration of a measurement that can be reliably measured by an analytical procedure. (Limit of Quantitation of test: 10 ppm)
